Ton Nitiwat, director of “Khid Teung Vittaya” got an inspiration from a real life story of his friend, Geng. Geng moved into a new office and found a diary on his new desk. Apparently, someone who used to work in that office forgot to take it. After he read some of the pages on the diary, he wanted to return it to its original owner. He tracked her down. Finally, he found her. They met, got to know each other, fell in love and got married.
After listening to the story, Ton said he was very impressed. At the same time, a question came to his head… “Is it possible to fall in love with someone you never met?”
Ton said… it took him about a year to develop the story line and turned it into a movie.
Ton-Nitiwat said his friend also told him about a school on a raft, floating in the middle of a dam surrounded by mountains. It’s the first and only school on a raft in Thailand. The location of the school gave him an idea for a romantic movie.
“It would be something quite amazing if the setting of the movie would be on a school floating in the middle of a big body of water surrounded by mountains and valleys. It would create such a romantic atmosphere. As a result, Vittaya became a school that filled with nostalgia in addition to many things that happened at the school.”
