The Teacher’s Diary won the Audience Award from the East Winds Film Festival 2014
“the Teacher’s Diary” has its European premiere on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the East Winds, European and UK Film Festival.
Synopsis (from the East Winds Film Festival)
The comedy-drama follows the intertwining stories of two lonely teachers, a young woman and a young man, who are posted to the same rural school a year apart.
Sukrit “Bie” Wisetkaew is bumbling-but-enthusiastic and is assigned to a remote floating schoolhouse. Cut off from modern comforts, Song takes to reading an illustrated diary left by his predecessor Ann, and slowly falls in love with her.
Song later moves on, and when the headstrong and opinionated Ann (Chermarn “Ploy” Boonyasak) returns to her old post, she finds that her battered diary has been expanded upon.
Even though the two have never met, a bond is formed, as the two struggle to connect with the sometimes wayward children.
The Teacher’s Diary was featured at the closing ceremony of the film festival. Screening followed Q & A with Ton Nithiwat Tharatorn, director of the Teacher’s Diary.
