Bie is ecstatic that he was asked to participate at the international level, the 2010 Asia Song Festival in S. Korea. He is not under any pressure for having to take over the job from Film Rattapoom. Exact said they are preparing a showcase for Bie, using Bie’s most successful songs. The showcase will be a mixture of modern and traditional Thai style.
Of all the sudden Bie, Sukrit Wisetkaew, the favorite son of Exact ran into a stroke of good luck by being asked to participate at the 2010 Asia Song Festival taking over the job from Film Rattapoom of RS. When reporters found out that Bie would be apart of the press conference at the Boy Story Concert, a troupe of reporters crowded Meuang Thai Ratchadalai theater before pulling khun Boy and Bie over to talk about this piece of news…
How do you feel after being selected to represent Thai artists at the 2010 Asia Song Festival?
Bie: I am happy and very honor (to have been selected). Golf-Mike, Ice Saranyu, Chin and Pek participated at the festival in the past. This time is my turn to go and to show the world about Thai. I am very excited. I never went outside of the country to sing. I had a concert in Laos once but I was contracted to sing. This one is for the country, for all Thai people.
khun Boy… what kind of show are you preparing for Bie?
khun Boy: we are preparing songs that Bie had the most success with. Whether it’s Jung Wa Hua Jai or Hug… Bie should be able to present these two songs to the audiences. The style of the show is a modern mixing with traditional Thai. If you are familiar with Jung Wa Hua Jai and Hug… these two songs are very different from each other. Jung Wa Hua Jai is more modern and trendy while Hug has the smell of Thai in it. We want to present two different style of songs.
How fit are you or how well prepare are you for the show?
Bie: I just knew about the trip 2 days ago. I was filming lakorn (when I received the news). I just got back (from out of town). As soon as we received the news, the rehearsal began immediately.
Will you have enough time to prepare?
Bie: We have to see. Jung Wa Hua Jai and Hug already have its own dance. We only need to modify some of the steps to make it more up-to-date and fit for the occasion.
This trip…. what kind of experience do you think you will bring back from the trip? What do you want fans in other countries to know about you?
Bie: I want to tell you that I never thought and dream that I would have an opportunity to perform at the Korean stage. There are Korean artists that I like and admire. I am very excited that I will have an opportunity to perform on the same stage with many famous artists… and to be able to show the world something about Thailand.”
Are you under any pressure because Film was the one who was supposed to go?
Bie: “I am not under any pressure. Now that I have been given a job, I just have to do it the best of my ability. The Fest is on October 23, 2010. I will be flying to S. Korea on the 21st or 22nd. I have to check on my flight schedule. We have to book a flight quickly. I will do my best and give it all I have…” Bie said.
why did S. Korea want Exact to send Bie to the event?
khun Boy: I was just recently contacted by the organizer… on an urgent basis. I was even out of the country at that time. They said they wanted so much to have Bie at the Fest and they wanted an answer in 2 days. Bie’s new lakorn was supposed to start filming already but filming has been postponed to next month. For that reason, Bie’ schedule opened up. At the same time, it’s a wonderful opportunity for any singer. You can say that the Festival is one of the biggest music event in Asia. Yes, I am very proud…
P.S. Asia Song Festival is on Oct. 23, 2010 in South Korea
